Todo Cal Sync instructions

iPhone Calendar Setup Info (BETA)
Get program from iTunes:

  • Todo+Cal+Sync(this link will open in a new window and bring up iTunes Store on your system or iPhone. an actice iTunes account is required, and the cost is $14.99
  • If you purchase the program via your computer you will need to sync your iPhone in order to get the program onto your iPhone. 

Setup program:

  • Start Todo_Cal, then click on the sync button , and click Settings (at the bottom of the screen)
  • Click the Server Settings ">", URL ">", enter https://calweb3.lbl.gov:7778/ocst-bin/ocas.fcgi and click "Done"
  • Click SyncML Version ">", and select SyncML 1.2, and click the "Server Settings" at the top
  • Set "Ignore SSL errors" to ON
  • Set User and Password to your LDAP username and password
  • click "Settings" at the top
  • Set Contacts to "OFF" (there are issues with contact syncs that we have not resolved)
  • Set Todos to ON, and click the ">" icon, set the server path to: ./Calendar/Tasks and click "Settings"
  • Set Calendar to "ON" and click the ">" icon, set the Server Path to ./Calendar/Events
  • If you want more calendar data than the default (7 days back and 30 days forward), set "Limit" to "ON" andd enter the number of days past you want, and number of days in the future you want
  • Click "Settings", and "Done" 

Syncing:

  • Click the "Start Synchronisation" button, the first time may take some time depending on the number of days you requested and the number of calendar items you have, the sections below the button show your progress, when it is done, you click the check mark at the top.

Usage Hints:

  • Meeting attendanceMetting status is indicated in the title within square brackets "[]"
  • + your event: An Event you own and are attending
  • - your event: An Event you own but are not attending
  • ? your event: An Event you own but for which you have not yet confirmed your attendance status
  • *+ another event: An Event you do not own and are attending
  • *- another event: An Event you do not own and are not attending
  • *? another event: An Event you do not own and for which you have not yet confirmed your attendance status

to change your status, simply edit the title on the iphone, and change the +,-,? to:

  • "+" if you will attend
  • "-" if you will not attend
  • "?" if you want to go back to not yet confirmed

Limitations:

  • you can not update meeting notes
  • full day events (holidays, etc)do not display properly on the monthly or day view
  • Location data is displayed in the title, like this: @(50E-1566)
  • The server take precedence over the iPhone, if changes are made on both the server and iPhone the server data remains unchanged and the iPhone changes to match.
  • You can create meetings, add attendees by using their emal addresses, however you can not add attendees to existing meetings

Note: Some users have experienced duplication of records with this application.
